Diane Sherry
Diane is a Los Angeles based writer, artist, filmmaker, teacher, and actor embodying a life story akin to an epic saga. From rubbing shoulders with the Beatles to playing Lana Lang in Superman (1978), her journey is a tapestry of adventure and intrigue. Notably, she also served as a strongman's assistant in a Mexican circus.

As an actor Diane worked on dozens of TV shows, commercials and several feature films,  as well as live theatre. She’s shared the screen with Julie Andrews and Bing Crosby, the stage with Sean Penn and Jeff Goldblum, and bought her first home with checks from two Super Bowl commercials. Inspired by her experiences, she took to writing fiction, with her debut novel Elephant Milk earning the prestigious title of Best Novel in the Next Generation Indie Awards. Her work as both a writer and director has garnered recognition from esteemed institutions like the American Film Institute.

Always seeking to synergize her skills and talents, Diane mixes her passion for art with her education in psychology by leading expressive writing workshops. Motivated by the belief that art saved her life and armed with her constant refrain, “if you don’t use your imagination, it will use you,” Diane brings the healing arts program she developed to high school students, incarcerated people, unhoused youth, as well as lawyers and other professionals. She has taught psychotherapists to incorporate writing into their practices, authored the book Write For Recovery, and is an active advisor for the outreach program Hope and Mic, founded by slam poet Austin Alexander, and along with other local poets and writers, continues to inspire those living in marginalized communities.

Diane lives in Los Angeles and when not writing or teaching, spends her time painting and studying finch culture. Her current projects include tiny animations of her painting, a memoir, and a script about her minor role behind the camera on the film Troop Beverly Hills.
